The five-day theatre festival Tirjok Natya Mela 2019, organised by Tirjok Natyadol, will conclude today at the Theatre Institute Chattogram (TIC) in Chattogram.
The closing ceremony of the festival will be held today at 5pm, where eminent theatre personality Mancha Sarathi Ataur Rahman will be present as chief guest while Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation General Secretary Kamal Bayazid will attend as special guest.
The closing day programme will begin at 10am by screening a documentary titled Mancha Sarathi: Ataur Rahman. Later, a discussion on Classical Drama: Why and How will be held at 3:30pm. Presided over by Ataur Rahman, theatre researcher Anshuman Bhowmick will attend the discussion.
Srijani Sangskritik Angan will present Gana Sangeet lead by Sujit Chakrabarty at 5pm at the Muktamancha, while Odissi and Tagore Dance Movement Centre will perform dance.
In the evening, theatre troupe Upstage will stage the 7th show of its maiden play Raat Bhore Brishti based on Buddhadeb Basus renowned novel with the same name. Saif Sumon has adapted and directed the play.
Beginning on December 25, the drama festival includes screening of documentary films, photography exhibition, drama dialogue, drama discussions, drawing competition for children, storytelling programme, lecture, workshop, recitations, debating, mime show, dance and rendition of songs.
