Idol damaged, ornaments stolen

DINAJPUR: An idol of Hindu Goddess Kali was damaged and gold and silver ornaments from the idol were stolen by a gang of criminals from ‘Singa Kali Mandir’ in Kaharole upazila of the district on Thursday, reports BSS.
Eyewitnesses and mandir committee sources said a gang of 10-15 criminals entered the Kali Mandir during a function, and stole 20 bori of gold ornaments and 10 kilograms of silver from the idol of Kali Goddess.
The criminals also blasted bombs during the robbery to create panic among the people. Four persons were injured during the incident. They were admitted to Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital. Police also recovered 6 hand made bombs from the spot.
Additional Police super of Dinajpur,Mizanur Rahman,uno Mohammad Rabiul Faisal and other high officials visited the spot.
