Bangladesh kept their ODI series victory momentum as they scripted a four wicket win over Zimbabwe in the first T20 match yesterday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital. Bangladesh had to concede as many as six wicket to overhaul the target (136 for 6) with 16 balls to spare. Earlier the visitors were bowled out for 131 in 19.3 overs. Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortoza whacked the match winning shot with a straight over boundary to remain not out with 15 while Mahmudullah Riyad was at the end with 22. The home team while replying to a paltry target, did not start in a good fashion as Anamul Haque Bijoy was sent back on six with his individual score of one. Thereafter Shabbir Rumman, who was promoted to No 3, added 39 runs with Tamim Iqbal in the second wicket. Tamim with 31 off 28 was the top scorer. Barring M Waller no other Zimbabwean batsman could bat with real T20 tempo. He smashed 68 off 31 balls which clattered with half a dozen sixes and four boundaries. He not only scored the highest run of the innings but also lifted the team from a precarious state of 38 for four. He shared a valuable 67 runs stand with Sean Williams in the fifth wicket which ultimately helped the Southern African team to  put on almost seven run per over. Williams contributed 15, while C Ervine with 20 was the other batsman to reach double figure. Zimbabwean captain Elton Chigumbura disappointed his team as he was clean bowled by his Bangladeshi counterpart Mashrafe Bin Mortaza before opening his account. Mashrafe along with his other two seamers Mustfafizur Rahman and Al-Amin Hossain shared six wickets evenly among themselves. Off-spinner Jubair Hossain Likhon, who came into the side in place of left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny also bagged a couple, while Mahmudullah Riyad and Nasir Hossain grabbed the other two wickets.
