Salman Khan’s masala entertainer ‘Dabangg 3’ is back on the track as it earned Rs 15.50 crore on its first Wednesday to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club. The third instalment of the cop franchise saw a massive drop in its collection after a stunning first weekend. ‘Dabangg 3’ also marks the debut of Mahesh Manjrekar’s daughter Saiee in Bollywood has been receiving mixed reviews from the audience as well as critics.
According to the latest report on Box Office India, ‘Dabangg 3’ is the 15th film in Salman’s career to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in the domestic circuit after ‘Dabangg’, ‘Kick’, ‘Ready’, ‘Dabangg 2’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, ‘Jai Ho’, ‘Tubelight’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘Race 3’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Bharat’ and ‘Sultan’.
After raking in Rs 15.50 crore on Wednesday, ‘Dabangg 3’ which had opened at Rs 22.50 crore has reached a staggering total of Rs 107 crore. Not only in the domestic circuit, but the film has excelled overseas as well. The report further suggested that its the drop on Thursday that’ll determine the film’s first-week collection.
While the CAA protests in various regions of the country affected the collections of ‘Dabangg 3’, the film has managed to allure the audience to the theatres with the help of Salman’s star power and the franchise value. Talking about it Salman said, “In such troubled times (for the film) to do well is remarkable. All the credit goes to the fans. And fans have been very loyal to me and they have gone. In North India section 144 was imposed so those collections have not come. But they will go and see the film. I mean first, it is their security and then comes ‘Dabangg 3’. In other states, we have done pretty well.”
