A memorial concert titled ‘8th Sanjeeb Utshob 2019’ was held on Dhaka University (DU) campus on Wednesday evening commemorating the famed singer and journalist Sanjeeb Chowdhury. Sanjeeb Utshab Parishad organised the musical evening in association with Dhaka University Cultural Society, Dhaka University Band Society and Ajob Karkhana at Swimming Pool area of Teacher Student Center (TSC) in DU.
The bands which partook in the event include Gankabi, Shohortoli, Arjan, Suhriodo, Anuran, Dhaka University Cultural Society and Dhaka University Band Society.
Celebrating the 55th birth anniversary of renowned singer, songwriter, journalist late Sanjeeb Chowdhury, the participating band covered memorable of the talented artist like, ‘Gari Chole Na’, ‘Ami Tomakei Bole Debo’, ‘Bioscope’ and so on.
Kingbodonti Chowdhury, daughter of Sanjeeb Chowdhury thanked everyone present at the musical festival.
Sanjeeb Chowdhury worked in a number of dailies, including Ajker Kagoj and Bhorer Kagoj after graduating from Mass Communication and Journalism Department of DU.
He was the editor of Mela, a popular supplement of the Bhorer Kagoj. The journalist established himself as a feature writer and worked at the daily Jaijaidin until his death. Born on December 25, 1964, in Baniachang upazila of Habiganj district, Sanjeeb Chowdhury died on November 19, 2007. l
