In a bid to win the series, Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team will lock horns with their Zimbabwean counterparts in the third match of the four-match youth ODI series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) in Chittagong today. The match will kick off at 9:00am.
By the virtue of two successive victories, the junior Tigers, who were heading to the youth series in the same manner like their senior, led the four-match youth ODI series 2-0.
Earlier, Saif Hasan’s century and Saleh Ahmed Shawon’s four-wicket haul steered Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team to whack past their Zimbabwean counterparts with 58 runs win in the second match of the youth ODI series at ZACS, in the port city on Thursday.
After being sent to bat first, Bangladesh managed to put on 241-8, after which the tourists were shot out for 183 with 23 balls remaining.
The home side made a solid start and hit 180 runs from the opening partnership of Saif Hasan and Pinak Ghosh. Pinak, who fell for 65, cracked six boundaries as well as one six in his 99-ball innings.
Just three runs after Ghosh’s exit, the local side lost Saif Hasan and skipper Mehedi Hasan Miraz, whose were accountable for Rugare Magarira.
