RUET admission test today
RAJSHAHI: The admission test for the first year Sc Engineering course for 2015-16 academic session of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) will be held today, a RUET press release said yesterday. This year, a total of 6,150 students will sit for the entry test. Of them, 815 qualified students will get chance for admission in 12 departments. Test results will be published within November 25 next. The test will take place in different buildings of the university. Test of Ka group will be held from 10 am to 12 noon while freehand drawing test for only Architecture Department (Kha Group) from 3 pm to 4 pm. They were also asked to bring admission card, passport size photograph and other necessary documents. Excepting calculator, no student will be allowed with mobile phone, tab, iPod, headphone and other electronics devises.
Detailed information relating to the admission test will be available in notice board of administration building or website www.ruet.ac.bd. Similarly, list of eligible students for taking part in the admission test will also be available there. Besides, for any query relating to the admission test, the concerned persons can contact mobile numbers 01555555021 or 01555555022 during office times from 9 am to 5 pm. Already, the university authority has completed the necessary preparations for holding the admission test. Meanwhile, Vice-chancellor Prof Rafiqul Alam Beg has sought cooperation of all quarters for proper and peaceful holding of the test, the release added.
Two-day career fest begins in capital today
A two-day Career Fest 2015 begins at capitals RAOWA Convention Centre today, says a press release. Retired Armed Forces Officers Welfare Association (RAOWA) and job site Jobsbd.com are jointly organising the fair from November 14 to 15, 2015. Career Development Centre (CDC) of Daffodil International University is the strategic partner of the Career Fest 2015. Anisur Rahman Sinha, chairman, Opex Garments and Sinha Textile will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest. Md Sabur Khan, chairman of Daffodil Group and Musharrof Hossain, president, Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM) will be present as the special guests. RAOWA Chairman Major M Taneem Hasan will presid over the inaugural ceremony. The two-day career fest includes job showcase, spot interview sessions, seminar, workshop, career guidelines and meet the leaders sessions, new job opening, resume appraisals, career clinic with skills assessment test, entrepreneurs guidance camp, panel discussions focused on jobs, entrepreneurship, self employment, women entrepreneurship and many more.
Indian team meets DU vice chancellor
A two-member team led by FR Felix Raj, principal of ST Xaviers College, Kolkata, India called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office on Thursday. Other team member was Firdausul Hasan, secretary of ST Xaviers College Alumni Association. During the meeting they discussed various issues including undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes by the University of Dhaka and ST Xaviers College, India. They stressed the need for exchange of more teachers, researchers and students between the two institutions. They also agreed to organise joint programmes to observe International Mother Language Day at Kolkata every year.
