Transport worker beaten mercilessly

A transport worker was seriously injured after he was attacked by a group of youth in Chandmuha Haat area under Gokul union of Bogra sadar upazila yesterday evening. The victim, Benazir Ahmed, 28, of Sibpur area of the district, was attacked after he denied allowing the group of youth to board his bus. Later, the group stopped the bus, beat Benazir up mercilessly and left the spot unchallenged. Shah Alam, Town   Sub   Inspector of   Bogra police, said local people admitted Benazir to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital after finding him lying unconscious. Contacted, an on-duty doctor, on condition of anonymity, said the victim has been seriously injured and was in a grave condition when he was admitted. Bogra Superintendent of Police Asaduzzaman said he visited the spot and found the victim in a stable condition. The incident took place less than half an hour after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Bogra after addressing a rally in the district.
