Four people were killed in separate accidents in different areas of Barishal division yesterday. Dr Barkir Hossain, director of Barishal Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH), confirmed the report. He said among the deceased-- Siddikur Rahman, 55, a driver of battery three-wheeler, Lokman Hossain, 37, the passenger of that vehicle, were declared dead by the attending doctor when they were taken to the hospital. They were injured when a bus of Jashore-Kuakata route hit the three-wheeler near Kamini petrol pump area on Barishal-Dhaka highway early yesterday.
Mintu Mistri, 19, a labourer, was electrocuted as he came in contract with a live electric wire at Alangkar Kathi under Nazirpur upazila of Pirojpur district on Friday noon. He was immediately rushed to Barishal SBMCH and succumbed to injuries early yesterday. Mokhles Mistri, 80, of Razapur under Jhalakathi upazila, was severely injured after a brick wall fall on him on Friday afternoon. After giving first aid at local hospital, he was rushed to Barishal SBMCH and succumbed to his injures there yesterday morning.
