Dhaka Platoon captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has said that the defeat against Rasjshahi Royals not a matter of concern at the moment as there is still a long way to go in the tournament while expecting his side to bounce back in the very next match learning from the mistakes.
In the post-match press conference Mashrafe also told reporters yesterday the team needs two or three matches to get altogether getting things right in the competition.
“Actually it’s not about the team’s fine tuning rather it needs time to get adjusted with the other players. But it’s nothing but an excuse. I think we still have enough time left because it’s a big tournament. We made some mistakes today like the run-outs. But, we’re not worrying too much at the moment. Since we will play again tomorrow, we need to amend those mistakes and fill up those areas we lacked,” said Mashrafe.
“The missing part of the match is that we didn’t play as a team. It was a good wicket. The two, three run-outs cost us. I think time hasn’t come yet to go for a big discussion and we’re not absolutely worried about the defeat,” he further added.
The 36-year-old national team ODI skipper, who dealt with injury frequently during his long time cricket career, also reiterated that he has been suffering minor back pain recently which he expects to recover very soon.
Dhaka picked up Jaker Ali instead of Shuvagata Hom against the Royals who scored 21 for the Platoon. Defending Jaker Ali, Mashrafe said team selection isn’t a big deal because he was selected based on the opponent side.
