Rangpur Rangers head coach Mark O’ Donnell said they shrugged off the loss of the opening match of the Akash-DTH Bangabandhu-Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20-2019.
The New Zealand-born coach thought that it can’t be a blessing in disguise for them because they can be learning what they did mistakes in their opener and can be implemented those in their next matches of the league.
The Rangers launched their campaign in a disastrous manner as they conceded a thumping 105-run defeat to Cumilla Victorians in their BPL opener.
“We got the crack in the opening game. I think it can be good in a way as we know where we have to work on to progress further in the next matches of the league,” said Mark O’Donnell.
“It was probably decent wicket and we could not bowl according to the strength, according to the requirements,” O’ Donnell told local media at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.
“Probably we had a decent time till the 16th and half overs. From that point of view, we just bowled on the area, hitting on his (Dasun Shanaka) zone. And we just bowled to his strength. When you lose four wickets in powerplay that is then you lose the game,” he added.
