Bangladesh, in their both the World Cup and AFC Asian Cup joint-qualification mission, will play the sixth match today when they will face Tajikistan at Dushanbe.
In their previous encounter, Bangladesh were forced to share points at home ground on June 16 when they led the match up to 87th by 1-0 and conceded a goal on 88th minute.
At the home condition, Bangladesh demonstrated very impressive performance, as they played with almost full authority throughout 90 minutes time and could have won the match.
But due to some dubious show from the strikers at the finishing hour, Bangladesh failed to win the match but to concede an odd goal before two minutes of the final whistle.
Now, Bangladesh will have to play the match at away ground in Tajikistan, where they (Bangladesh) have been struggling to accustom to the local chilly condition since their arrival in Dushanbe last weak (on November 6).
However, according to information from Dushanbe, Tajikistan, all the Bangladesh players, coaching staff and the officials are going well and also have been did their practice regularly since their arrival. But the condition is very cool as the temperature was 4-6 degree Celsius on Tuesday and also there was a rain.
Iqbal Hossain, the former national booter, who is with the team as the team leader, said that despite the very cold weather, players were doing practice. They were both physically and mentally well.
Apart from a 1-1 draw against Tajikistan in the first leg match, Bangladesh conceded defeat in both the home away match against Kyrgyzstan, home match against Jordan and away match against Australia.
According to a message from BFF, in the pre-match press conference yesterday, Bangladesh head coach Fabio Lopez expressed his expectation to win the match as he said, “We came here to win the match. We do respect our opponents Tajikistan. But it will be a tough match for both of us, nothing to worry about the opponents.”
