The government has allocated 93,736.51 acres khas land among 1,94,302 landless families till June this year from 2009, reports BSS.
Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif told this in the Jatiya Sangsad while replying to a tabled question from treasury bench member M Abdul Latif yesterday.
“The government in its last tenure allocated 73,110.94 acres khas land among 1,55,194 landless families (2009-2013), while 38,308 families got 20,625.57 acres khas land till June, 2015 in the current tenure,” he said.
Replying to another question from a treasury bench member Didarul Alam, the minister said the government acquired 3,061.1211 acres land for implementation of the Padma Bridge and around taka 900.02 crore had been disbursed among the affected 18,634 people.
He said the government has undertaken various initiatives to prevent corruption among officers/employees and harassment while providing services to common people in the land office across the country.
While replying to another question from ruling party lawmaker M Mamunur Rashid Kiron, the land minister said various projects are being implemented to introduce Digital Land Management System (DLMS) aimed at bringing speed in the land office activities.
