Man held with 20 gold bars at Ctg airport

Customs officials arrested a man along with 20 gold bars at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram yesterday. The arrestee is Mohammad Ohidul Alam. Khairul Kabir, assistant manager of the airport, said a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Dubai landed at the airport around 9am. Tipped off, a team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate searched Alam’s luggage on the boarding lounge of the airport and recovered the gold bars, he said. Meanwhile, a customs team recovered 12 gold bars, weighing around 1.4 kg, from a dustbin of a toilet at Osmani International Airport on Saturday.
