British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) has received the ‘ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence-2014’ in manufacturing companies' category for practicing good governance for the second time, reports UNB.
BATB Managing Director Shehzad Munim and Board of Directors member Md Hossain Bhuiyan received the award from Finance Minister AMA Muhith at a ceremony held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital recently.
On the occasion Shehzad Munim said, “This is the 2nd year we win ICSB award back to back, so it’s a massive recognition for British American Tobacco Bangladesh. Our corporate slogan is success and responsibilities go together; this award is a good recognition of that spirit. This also proves that we are running our business responsibly.”
The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) has given the awards in ten different categories to promote corporate governance excellence in the country. BATB also received the same award in 2013.
