The city and district units of Juba League, youth front of the ruling Awami League, observed the 43rd founding anniversary of the organisation yesterday in a befitting manner.
The day’s programme started with placing floral wrath at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, founder of the Awami League, and Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni, founder of Juba League, at Sohel Square of the city in the morning.
Juba League organised a rally on this occasion. Local lawmaker Jebunnesa Afroz chaired the rally while city convener Nizamul Islam was present.
Then a colorful procession led by lawmaker Jebunnesa Afroz marched the city roads.
Speakers at the rally said that Jammat-Shibir have a blue print to disturb the trial process of the war criminals.
They declared that there will be no compromise with the war criminals and their associates.
On the other hand, another group of Juba Legue city unit, led by its central leader Serniyabat Sadik Abdullah, held a separate programme on the Aswini Kumar Town Hall premises on Sadar Road of the city at the same time.
A colorful procession was also brought out from the same place that paraded main thoroughfares of the city.
A large number of police members were deployed at the key points to check any untoward situation.
