Shakib urges teammates to do well in WorldT20

Sports Reporter

Bangladesh premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan urged his teammates to do well in the next year’s World Twenty20 in India to make an entry into the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).
According to Shakib who made him regular member in IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as the first Bangladesh player, the IPL teams have the interest for Bangladesh players, specially after they clinched the ODI series and Twenty20 against Pakistan.
“When I was playing for KKR, everybody was keen to know about the Bangladeshi players. Their interest grew once we won the ODI series and Twenty20 match against Pakistan,” Shakib told the reporters in a programme in his restaurant Dine at Banani yesterday.
“The World Twenty20 in India next year will be important for us. I think our players could force their case stronger to play IPL by playing well there.”
The star all-rounder also stressed upon the needs to play well against India in the upcoming home series.
