A two-day Bangladesh-India shipping secretary-level joint committee meeting will begin in Dhaka from today with a view to fixing transshipment fees, ensuring seafarers’ shore leave facility and discussing other issues. “Bangladesh will place 14 agendas at the meeting including transshipment fees, new ports of call, land port facility and bunkering facilities,” Bangladesh’s shipping secretary Abdus Samad told this while talking to newly-elected office-bearers of Shipping and Communication Reporters Forum (SCRF) at the secretariat yesterday.
Meanwhile, a 12-member delegation led by shipping secretary of India Gopal Krishna has arrived in Dhaka at 3:45pm yesterday.
