Two police officers were withdrawn from Monohardi Police Station in Narsingdi on Monday over the burial of a freedom fighter without state honors. The police officers are Sub-Inspector Masud and Assistant Sub-Inspector Bazlur Rahman. Monohardi Upazila Freedom Fighter Commander Matiur Rahman said a freedom fighter was buried without state honors at Charmandalia on Monday at about 11:30 am. Charmandlia Union Freedom Fighter Commander Shahidulla said freedom fighter Abul Hashem of Charmandalia died on Sunday evening. Upazila Freedom Fighter Commander Matiur Rahman then informed local police OC Moniruzzaman to take part in his funeral prayers and provide state honours during the burial the next day at 10.00am. Several hundred people including freedom fighters attended the funeral prayer and waited for the police team to come and offer state honour to the deceased freedom fighter. However, no police team came to the scene and Abul Hashem was later buried without state honour.
