Theatre (Arambag) will stage its 34th production titled ‘Nikhai’ today at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital.
Written and directed by Gazi Rakayet, the play explores the romantic past of a person with an unnamed woman which ends with a surprising reunion.
In the play, an old man named Arafan Bhuiyan is seen walking along the bank of a river. Right that moment, a police inspector and his wife arrive there to cross the river. There is no boatman in sight. They meet Arafan and soon start a conversation.
During the conversation, Arafan reveals his romantic past, shares his heart with them, including an unsuccessful affair he had with a woman. In a dramatic twist, it is revealed that the inspector’s wife is none other than the daughter of his beloved.
