“National Textiles Day-2019” is being observed today for the first time in the country as the government has set an export target of US$ 50 billion from the sector by 2021.
The theme of the day is “globalisation of the textiles sector—sustainable
development”.
The Ministry of Textiles and Jute has taken an elaborate programme to mark the day, according to an official release yesterday.
President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages on the eve of the day.
