As part of the party's move to strengthen its organisational capacity, Jatiya Party has decided to hold its national council on December 28 next.
The council will be held at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in the capital.
Party presidium members finalised the decision at a meeting held at Jatiya Party Chairman's Banani office yesterday, said a press release.
Besides, they decided that Jatiya Party will participate in the by-election to Chattogram-8 constituency.
The meeting unanimously nominated party Presidium member Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu as its candidate to contest the by-election.
Chattogram-8 (Chandgaon-Boalkhali) seat fell vacant following the death of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal leader Moinuddin Khan Badal, MP.
Badal, also a freedom fighter, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in India on November 7.
