An unidentified tricenarian man was killed as a train collided with a truck on the railway crossing in city’s Karwan Bazar area yesterday. The collision occurred under the flyover in the area at about 3.30 am when a Tongi-bound train hit an errant truck which was trying to cross a rail line by flouting the traffic signal, said Rakibul Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dhaka Railway Police Station. The accident left a man dead on the spot, he said, adding “But detailed about his death is yet to be known”.
Being informed, the police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, the official said. The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for an autopsy.
