Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four active members of the banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) in an overnight drive in the city’s Khilkhet area yesterday. The arrested are Md Masum Miah, 30, Md Abu Bakkar Siddique alias Emran, 19, Md Raqibul Hasan alias Siam, 18 and Md Abdullah Al Roman alias Roman Khan, 22. They hailed from Cumilla, Gazipur, Munshiganj and Jhenaidah districts respectively, said Senior Assistant Director of the RAB’s Legal Aid and Media Wing and Senior ASP Md Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan. A team of the elite anti-crime force began a sudden raid in Nikunja area of Khilkhet in the capital around 9.45pm on Saturday night, responding to a secret tip-off. Later, four members of the ABT were arrested, he said. During the drive, the RAB personnel also recovered huge jihadi books, leaflets, digital contents and mobile sets from their possession, Mizanur Rahman added.
