Anamul eyeing to make the most of this BPL

Ahead of the special edition of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League, Jamuna Bank Dhaka Platoon wicket-keeper Anamul Haque Bijoy said that BPL has always been a good platform for him to improve his performance and there will be no exception this time around as he would like to make this BPL memorable for yet another time in his career.

Having two national icons and champion team-mates like Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Tamim Iqbal, Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi and Sri Lankan Tishara Perera making the squad, Bijoy thinks Dhaka Platoon will be at its best in this BPL.

Talking about his new team Dhaka Platoon, Bijoy said, “I think we’ve got an incredible team. We’ve country’s best opener Tamim Iqbal, Test skipper Mominul Haque, leader like Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and international stars like Shahid Afridi and Wahab Riaz. In this team playing cricket would be comfortable. We also began practice much earlier. As a team we are at good position and I think the excitement surrounding Dhaka will be the same as it was previously.”

Among the previous six editions, Bijoy lifted the BPL trophy twice playing for Dhaka Gladiators and once with Cumilla Victorians.

“In this BPL, I want to enjoy playing cricket. As a Gladiator player I won the trophy twice while playing for Cumilla Victorians, I lifted the trophy with Tamim Bhai. All are champion compatriots this time. I think it will be another enjoyable moment.

I want to carry it forward and deliver my hundred percent in this BPL and make it remarkable once again,” he told reporters at the SBNCS yesterday.

When asked whether he is any having preparation to make his return to the national side ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia through his performance in this BPL, Bijoy said, “I started the journey of my career through BPL because I think it’s a good stage for me to perform well. I always have special attraction when I play in this event. So, obviously I have plan to contribute for my side, play good cricket as if I can return to the national side,” he concluded.
