One killed in city road mishap

A bus helper was killed when a private car hit him in city’s Rampura area yesterday morning. The deceased was identified as M Bashar Ali, 26, son of Jabbar Dhali, a resident of Char Dhankathi village under Damudda upazila in Shariatpur district. The accident occurred in the area at about 1 am as the private car hit Bashar while he was crossing the road, said Sub-Inspector (SI) of Hatirjheel police station Subrato Debnath. Critically injured Bashir was sent to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police arrested the private car driver.
