Khaleda greets Suu Kyi

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday felicitated Noble Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi for the win in Myanmar’s general election by her party National League for Democracy (NLD). “I am happy to know that the rulers of that country have accepted and showed respect to the popular win,” she said in a message felicitating the Myanmar leader. She hoped the election would help forging a new chapter in Myanmar’s democracy for which its people have struggled for so long. Khaleda, who is now staying in London for treatment, observed that if the people could cast their votes freely that always reflects their verdict.
