Asma Kibria passes away

Asma Kibria, wife of slain former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria, passed away at a city hospital yesterday. She was 78, reports UNB.
Asma Kibria, who had been suffering from cancer, breathed her last at United Hospital in Gulshan area of the city around 9am, said family sources.
Talking to reporters at the Secretariat, State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim, who is also the deceased’s niece, expressed her shock at the death and prayed for the departed soul.
Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of Asma Kibria and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
In her condolence message, the Prime Minister said the country has lost a social worker and brilliant artist.
She prayed for salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to her bereaved family members.
