22 detained while entering illegally from India

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 22 people for entering Bangladesh illegally from India at Nischintapur and Mogdaspur areas of Moheshpur upazila yesterday. Polianpur BOP patrol team of BGB detained 16 people from Nischintapur while another BGB team of Jululi BOP detained five more people from Mogdaspur village around 5am, said a press release from Moheshpur BGB 58. The detainees said they are Bangladeshi citizens.

Among the detainees, eight are men, seven women, six children and a broker, the press release added. The detainees said they entered India at different times seeking jobs, for treatment and bringing cattle. BGB sources said they were handed over to Jhenidah Police Station and a case will be filed against them.
