43 gold bars seized at airport

Dhaka Customs House in separate drives seized 43 gold bars, worth about Taka 2.5 crore, and detained two people involved with gold smuggling from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital. On a tip-off, a preventive team of Dhaka Customs House raided BG-048 flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, which landed at the HSIA from Dubai at 6.10 am today, and recovered 40 gold bars weighing 4.640 kilogram worth Taka 2.32 crore, Assistant Commissioner of the Dhaka Customs House Md Sajjad Hossain confirmed this.
