Teenager held for raping girl in Chandpur

A 14-year-old boy was arrested from Hajiganj upazila on Wednesday evening for allegedly raping a 7-year-old girl. The arrestee was identified as Rakib, 14, son of Mozammel Haque of Joyshar village in Gondhorbopur union in the upazila. According to police, the victim and her family were tenants in the house where Rakib lived. When the neighbours found out that the girl was violated by the boy, they informed Hajiganj Police Station. Md Abdur Rashid, office-in-charge (investigation) of Hajiganj Police Station, said the father of the victim filed a case. The victim will be sent to Chandpur General Hospital for a medical test today, the OC added.
