South Korean envoy calls on DU VC
Newly appointed South Korean Ambassador in Bangladesh AHN Seongdoo called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office yesterday. During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest, especially the possibilities of strengthening bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and South Korea said a university release. They also discussed establishment of ‘Korean Language Department’ at the Institute of Modern Languages of Dhaka University. They stressed the need for exchange of more cultural teams between the two countries. The possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes by the University of Dhaka and higher educational institutions in South Korea were also discussed in the meeting, the press release added. Later, South Korean Ambassador visited the ‘Buddha Statue’ on the Jagannath Hall premises of the university.

St. Peter's School of London holds teachers' confce

The teachers' conference-2015 of the Saint Peter's School of London was held on its campus at Uttara in the capital on Sunday, says a press release. Speakers at the programme said St. Peter’s School of London has started its journey with the vision of developing education in the country. Director of the school Showkat Aziz Russell called upon the teachers to enlighten the students with providing proper education by giving their maximum efforts.  He also sought assistance from the teachers for further expansion of the school.  At the beginning of the conference, Head of Uttara Branch of St Peter's School of London Syeda Shayla Hakim introduced the teachers with the directors. Uttara Club President Nasir U Mahmud, Director Tanjibul Alam, Sabbir Rahman, Ziaur Rahman and KM Abul Hasnat attended the function, among others. World Bank Consultant Max and MMM Group's Strategy and International Development Advisory Services Gabriela Sauter also present at the function.
