Woman killed in city road accident

A woman was killed when a covered van ran her over in city’s Banasree area yesterday morning. The victim was identified as Anwara Begum, 48, hailed from Debidwar thana in Cumilla. Duty officer (SI) of Rampura Thana Md Alamin said the accident occurred at 9am when a speedy covered van hit and ran over injuring her severely.

An unidentified person was also injured at this time. Locals rushed her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 10am where the duty doctor declared her dead. The body was kept on the DMCH morgue for autopsy. A case was filed with Rampura Thana in this regard.
