Amu leaves Dhaka for KSA

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia yesterday to explore investment from the oil rich Middle Eastern nation for the country's industrial sector, reports BSS.
During the visit, Amu will hold meeting with commerce and industries minister of Saudi Arabia Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, an official handout said.
Amu will invite Saudi Arabian entrepreneurs to establish industries on empty lands of the country's state owned industrial area under joint investment with Bangladesh government.
The industries minister will also seek support of the Saudi Arabian companies in furthering development of Bangladesh SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) as well as modernisation of urea fertilizers manufacturing factories.
The Bangladesh minister will put emphasis on increasing cooperation between BSTI and Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality organisation.
The industries minister will also hold a meeting to discuss importing fertilizer from Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) to Bangladesh.
The Saudi Government has already given a commitment to Bangladesh to disburse 50 million US dollar loan from Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) for purchasing fertilizer.
The minister is schedule to get back here on November 14 after performing Omrah Hajj.
