DU IBA’s BBA admission test held

The admission test of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) under the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University (DU) under the 2019-20 academic session was held yesterday. A total of 7,541 examinees applied to participate in the admission test against 120 seats available, said a DU press release. The admission test was held from 10 am to 12 noon at DU campus. DU Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, Pro-VC Prof Dr Muhammad Samad, treasurer Prof Dr Kamal Uddin, IBA Director Professor Dr Syed Ferhat Anwar, among others, visited the exam halls.
Chinese envoy calls on DU VC

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming on Thursday night paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman at his residential office. Some other high officials from the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka were also present during the meeting. During the meeting, DU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman said an excellent friendly relationship has been prevailing between Bangladesh and China for a long time. He stressed the need for further strengthening bi-lateral ties between the two countries in different fields including education, research, trade, business, economy and culture.
6 DU students get scholarship

Six meritorious students of the departments of Islamic History and Culture and Sociology of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded scholarship from three separate trust funds for their outstanding academic performances. DU vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman distributed the scholarships among the students at a function held on Wednesday at the VC’s lounge of the university. Islamic History and Culture chairperson Prof Dr AKM Golam Rabbani, Prof Dr Ziaur Rahman, associate Prof Mahmudur Rahman and Registrar Md Enamuzzaman were present on the occasion with DU Treasurer Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin in the chair. Congratulating the awardees, Prof Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to become worthy citizen. “Meritorious students have to play an effective role to make Bangladesh a prosperous country,” he said. The recipients of Prof Dr Habiba Khatun Trust Fund Scholarship are —Shapla Khatun, Md Rahadul Islam Tanveer and Md Showkat Ali while the recipients of Prof Dr Md Delwar Husain and Raihana Husain Trust Fund Scholarship are — Jalal Uddin and Mst Mousumi Khatun. All of them are the students of DU Islamic History and Culture department. Besides, Raisul Islam Arman, a student of Sociology department received Prof Dr Md Delwar Husain Trust Fund Gopalganj Scholarship.
