Kamrul Ahsan made new envoy to Russia

The government has appointed Kamrul Ahsan, currently serving as Secretary for Bilateral and Consular Affairs in the foreign ministry, as the new ambassador of Bangladesh to the Russian Federation. Ahsan is a career foreign service officer, belonging to 1985 batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre, a press release said here yesterday. In his distinguished diplomatic career, Ahsan had served as Bangladesh High Commissioner to Canada and Singapore while he was promoted to the rank of Secretary in 2016.
