Factory fined for polluting environment

A mobile court fined a washing plant Tk one lakh for operating the factory without implementing an ETP (effluent treatment plant) and polluting the environment. The Department of Environment with the help of Gazipur district administration conducted a mobile court. Gazipur Executive magistrate of Gazipur Mostafizur Rahman fined Faisal Hossain Industries Limited in Chandona Chowrasta area of Gazipur city yesterday. Research officer of Department of Environment, Gazipur Ashraf Uddin said the authority of Faisal Hossain Industries Limited, a washing plant of the area, has been operating the plant without setting up an ETP. They have been polluting the environment by discharging the untreated liquid in the drain.
