A court here yesterday sent three persons to jail in a case lodged over recent double-murder that took place in capital’s Dhanmandi area. The three accused are- Belayet, Gausul Azam Prince, and Md Atikul Haque Bacchu. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan passed the order as police produced the accused after end of their one-day remand in the case. Investigation officer (IO) and detective branch (DB) inspector Robiul Alam pleaded to keep them behind bars.
Police on November 1, recovered throat-slit bodies of Afroza Begum, 65, and her house help Diti, 18, from flat E-5 of house-21 on road-28 in capital’s Dhanmandi area. Afroza’s daughter advocate Dilruba Sultana Ruba filed the case against five with Dhanmandi Police Station on November 3. The five accused are- housemaid Survi Akter Nahida, Nuruzzaman, Gausul Azam Prince, Md Atikul Haque Bacchu and Belayet Hossain.
