600 academic bldgs built in Hajiganj, Shahrasti

At least 600 new academic buildings have been built in the Chandpur-5 constituency  (Hajiganj, Shahrasti) during the last two terms of the AL-led government, said Maj. (rtd) Rafiqul Islam, Bir Uttam, MP.

He was addressing as chief guest a gathering of people after laying the foundation stone of the Rayosree Uttar UP Complex Bhavan on the UP office premises on Friday afternoon, with upazila engineer Redwanur Rahman in the chair.  Upazila chairman Fariduddin Chowdhury and Shahrasti municipal mayor A Latif Mia were special guests. Former upazila chairman Kamruzzaman Mintu, and UP chairman Selim Patwary, among others, spoke on the occasion.

So far, 400 km of roads have been broadened, repaired, developed, and made pucca. Besides, seven big bridges over the Dakatia river have been built. Yet another bridge is constructed over this river. Over 550 small bridges and culverts have also been built here. Dwelling houses in Shahrasti and Hajiganj upazilas have already been brought under the Palli Biddyut Network.

“You’ll see no houses now without power. Hajiganj upazila is already beggar- free. All these development works have been possible only because of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her love for common people,” he added.
