Prisoner dies in Jhenidah jail

A prisoner who fell sick in the district jail died at Sadar hospital on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Nanda Kumar, 40, son of Gopal Chandra of Bede Kolpara area in Kaliganj upazila.

Jailer Nizam Uddin of Jhenaidah jail said Nanda was sent to jail in a robbery case on October 22 and he was sent to jail hospital as he fell sick there.

After primary treatment there he was sent back to jail.

In the morning, Nanda was taken to Sadar Hospital after he complained of chest pain and he died there, the jailer said.

DrMonirul Islam, duty doctor of emergency unit of the Sadar Hospital said the man was brought dead to the hospital.
