Naow Hazem of Syria denied India of making an all out sweep in the boys’ singles event of Walton 29th ITF Bangladesh Junior Tennis Tournament. Hazem inflicted a 6-4, 6-3 defeat on Parikshit Somani of India in a semifinal match at the National Tennis Complex in the cap[ital yesterday.
Hazem will now take on top seed Dhruv Sunish of India in the final. Sunish beat his compatriot Sunil Jagtiani 6-1, 4-6, 6-1. Sunish has kept his hopes alive for winning a double crown. Sunish pairing with Parikshit Somani also moved into the doubles final.
Sunish and Parikshit defeated Amit Beniwal and Megh Bhargav Patel also of India 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinal.
