UK team meets DU VC

A two-member delegation led by Dr David John Davies, International Consultant of Edu Can International Limited of United Kingdom, called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman at his office here on Tuesday. Other member of the delegation Paul David Watkinson, International Director of Haileybury School of UK and Former DU VC Prof Dr SMA Faiz were, among others, present on this occasion, said a DU press release. During the meeting, DU VC apprised the team members of brief history as well as academic and research activities of the university. The VC also sought cooperation from the UK delegates in holding a special event which will take place in London to celebrate DU centenary in 2021. The UK delegates assured the VC of providing all possible support and cooperation in this regard. The UK delegation is now on a visit to Bangladesh for implementation of an education project titled International School of Bhaluka in Mymensingh.
Freshers orientation held at SUB

The freshers orientation for Fall-2019 semester was held recently at English department of Stamford University Bangladesh (SUB). A total of 40 undergraduate students from two batches (70 71) attended the programme. The event started with a welcome address by the chair of the department, Sheikh Nahid Neazy. Two campus coordinators, Fatima Tabsun and Farhana Ferdouse, also spoke on the occasion, says a press release. Azizul Haque, student affairs coordinator of the department, gave valuable tips about how to deal with rules and regulations on campus and how to be a life-long learner. Assistant proctor Mirza Adwit Rahman also talked about the universitys code of conduct as part of the proctorial policies. The newly admitted students were given gift packs, and the programme ended with vote of thanks by Tazria Islam, senior lecturer.
