Customs officials seized gold bars, weighing 14 kilograms, from a flight of Regent Airways at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital yesterday, reports UNB. Assistant Commissioner of Customs Santosh Surol said a flight of Regent Airways from Kuala Lampur landed at the airport around 8:16 am. Tipped off, a team of customs officials conducted a search in the aircraft and recovered several gold bars weighing 14 kilograms from under a seat around 9:30 am, he said. However, they also arrested a man for his suspicious involvement in the incident.
