The High Court yesterday fixed October 24 (Thursday) for passing its order on an appeal filed by Robi Axiata Ltd seeking an injunction on Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission’s (BTRC) demand of Tk 867.24 crore from Robi in unpaid dues.
After concluding hearing on the appeal, the HC bench comprising Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khizir Hayat fixed the date for delivering its order on Thursday.
The BTRC had on July 31 last year issued a notice asking Robi Axiata to pay Tk 867.24cr as dues But, the mobile telecom operator filed a petition with the lower court seeking an injunction over the realisation of money by the BTRC. However, the lower court turned down the Robi’s petition.
On October 20, the country’s second largest telecom operator moved before the HC with an appeal against the lower court order and seeking injunction on BTRC’s move to realise money from the mobile operator. After concluding hearing on the appeal, the HC bench yesterday fixed for Thursday to deliver its order in this regard.
