Oikyafront to hold ‘citizen mourning rally’ on Oct 22

The Jatiya Oikyafront will hold a ‘citizen mourning rally’ at Suhrawardy Udayn on October 22 to protest against the murder of BUET student Abrar Fahad. It will also carry out a mass signature collection under the title ‘We will try killing of Abrar both home and abroad’. Top Oikyafront leader Dr Kamal Hossain said this following a steering committee meeting yesterday evening.

He also said people are worried about the prevailing situation in the country as many violent incidents, including the murder of the BUET student, have taken place recently. He further said the brilliant BUET student was beaten to death in a barbaric manner.

“We’ve decided to hold the rally at Suhrawardy Udayn after discussing the recent incidents. All front leaders and activists will take part in the rally,” he added. Asked whether the police will give permission for the rally, Kamal Hossain said they would take their next course of action after considering the situation.
