Three High Court benches yesterday refused to hear a writ petition filed seeking Tk 10 crore compensation for the family of Buet student Abrar Fahad who was beaten to death at his dormitory.
Writ petitioner AKM Fayez said first the bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal declined to hear the petition suggesting that he place elsewhere.
When he produced it before the bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil, they also expressed their inability to hear it, he said.
Later, the petitioner approached the bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader when they asked him to wait, saying the Prime Minister herself is looking into the matter, he said.
“The court said investigation is progressing properly and the HC won’t interfere in it at this stage. If necessary, an appropriate order will be delivered if there’s any deviation,” he said.
