Having acknowledged ‘The queen of Lalon song’-famed legendary singer Farida Parveen is her biggest inspiration, young singer Beauty—fondly called ‘Lalon Konya’ by her fans—cherished a dream for many years to sing with her idol in the same programme. After spending a decade in the country’s music world, the long-awaited chance has finally come to Beauty’s life as the duo has performed for the same television show last Sunday.

DhakaLive has news that Beauty and Parveen have rendered songs in a music show titled ‘Arshi Nagar’ made on the occasion of the 129th death anniversary of Lalon Shah.

Cheerful Beauty shared her experience, “Actually, my interest for Lalon song grew up after taking inspiration from the rendition of Farida Parveen madam. My childhood dream has finally been fulfilled with her presence in the show where, I also performed. Keeping her hand on my head, she gave me her blessing by saying it is your (Lalon singers) responsibility now to spread the message of Lalon Saiji more among the people. I am really proud of this moment. Nothing can be compared with this opportunity which I consider the biggest achievement in my short music career.”

Regarding the programme, Farida Parveen said, “Special thanks to the producer Mahbuba Ferdous for arranging this excellent and well-planned show. We all, the singers from the same genre, have spent some quality time together. Through the rendition of songs, we have remembered Lalon Saiji with due respect. Among the new singers, Beauty has performed wonderfully. Best wishes for her.”

Among others, Kiron Chandra Roy, Chandana Majumdar, Mina Barua, Monir Baula and Deepti Rajbongshi have also performed in the same show.

BTV will air the music show ‘Arshi Nagar’ tomorrow after the 8pm news.
