Members of Bangladesh Navy detained 11 Indian fishermen along with a trawler near Fairway Boya area in the Bay of Bengal on charge of intruding into Bangladeshi maritime territory.
All the detained fishermen hail from Chabbish Pargana of West Bengal, said officer-in-charge of Mongla Police Station Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury. The detainees were handed over to Mongla police on Monday morning.
Later, they were produced before Bagerhat Chief Judicial Magistrate Court which sent them to jail. With this, a total of 49 Indian fishermen were detained for intrusion in the last two weeks.
