Some 78 members of Mro National Party (MNP), an armed group of the district, will surrender their arms to the government today in a bid to return to normal life, reports UNB.
Army has taken all preparations to administer the surrender in a colourful ceremony at Kurkpata Bazar in Alikadam upazila of the district.
State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Bir Bahadur is expected to attend the programme as the chief guest.
Meanwhile, MNP members have already surrendered 60 firearms to the Army. The formal surrender of the arms will take place at 12 noon on Thursday.
