Benapole: Police arrested an alleged illegal arms trader in possession of one foreign-made pistol, two magazines and one round of bullet from Benapole Bus Stand area on Tuesday night, reports UNB.
The arrestee was identified as Elias Ali, 33, a resident of sadar upazila in Rajbari district.
Sub-inspector of Benapole Port police station Firoz said being tipped-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Elias while he tried to sell the firearm and ammunition at about 11:00 pm.
A case was filed.
